In my honest opinion, Courageous Church, as a thriving community of faith that makes a real difference in the world, is just about a few months away from shutting down…maybe less.
I don’t want this. I really don’t. In my heart and in my mind and in my soul I know that we can endure and overcome where we are and become the community we’ve all imagined, but this is very unlikely unless we really regroup and refocus and give these next few months all we have. Hear my heart – I do not want ONE OF YOU to be a part of a dying church. I want you to be a part of a church that is fully alive and determined to follow God in a radical way and I know this can be Courageous Church.
It is time, though, for you to make a tough decision about continuing with Courageous Church or not. We must look at our church as if we are a new church plant heading in a new direction and it will require your best commitment of time, talent, resources, and more for the next 90 days if we are to survive. I am fully committed to making this work and I will give these next 90 days everything I have in time, resources, prayer, and more. I want you to join me and other leaders in this effort.
On this Wednesday, we shared that we are building a strong foundation from the bottom up by forming 5 new ministry teams (Outreach, Administration, Youth, Learning, Worship), forming a new board, instituting new bylaws, starting a Mid-Week bible study, and working our way back to having weekly gatherings by September while still staying true to our unique identity. We can do this!
If Courageous Church is not for you, though, that’s OK, and I want you to know that I love you and want to see the best for you. I have friends that serve and lead @ Buckhead Church, Victory World Church, and Impact Church. Each of those churches have been great supporters of ours, I trust these leaders, and think that you could find what you are looking for there if not with us.
I am asking, as your friend and pastor, to make a decision today. You will receive no judgment from me either way and this is all in love.
Make your decision by clicking here. I will be offering next steps and advice for both groups.
Be Courageous!
