It is time for me to walk my talk. My wife, Rai, and I have learned the most horrendous details about an outrageous rape, molestation, and child abuse scandal and cover-up and have decided to expose it. The physical and emotional lives of children and families have been destroyed and the perpetrator roams free with little consequence for the most heinous crimes imaginable. As you know, just over the past 2 weeks I have talked about dedicating our time to tackling child sex trafficking in our city. I honestly believe that this is a first step to stand up for children and victims and stand against the criminals that harm them in our city. I will likely be attacked, criticized, slandered, and maybe worse. I want to share 2 quotes with you and then make 2 requests. 1. Evil LOVES silence and secrets, but read this quote from Ephesians 5:11 that my brother shared with me this morning, “Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.” 2. This powerful quote, among many from Dr. King that kept me motivated me today, is so real. He says, “The day we see the truth and cease to speak is the day we begin to die.” — Here are my 2 requests, ok? 1. Your prayers. Pray for me, my family and for the families and victims in this and other cases of rape and sexual abuse. Pray for our church that we continue to grow as we are and become a PROVE IT church for our city and the world. Pray that God would give you wisdom for what your role will be in the New Courageous Church. 2. I just want you to know that I would not put so much on the line if I did not feel like my actions honor God, stay true to the Bible, and help break this case wide open for past victims and potential ones in the future.
