What is a SERVOLUTION? [ surv-uh-loo'-shuhn ] 1. to initiate a complete and radical change of a persons life through simple acts of kindness for the glory of God. 2. God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. 3. A church revolution through serving.
Starting on Friday, April 3rd and going for 7 STRAIGHT DAYS through Thursday, April 9th, The Courageous Church is joining 100s of churches all around the world in a global SERVOLUTION!
The Courageous Church is joining HUNDREDS of other churches around the world for 7 AMAZING DAYS OF REVOLUTIONARY SERVICE!
It’s SERVOLUTION!
Nearly 2,000 years ago many people expected the coming Jewish Messiah to spark a revolution with politics or even violence, but instead a simple carpenter named Jesus sparked a REVOLUTION through SERVICE and is calling all of us to do the same thing TODAY!
For 7 Days STRAIGHT – leading up until Good Friday and Easter Sunday, our church is leading a SERVOLUTION throughout Atlanta and we want YOU to join us!
You don’t have to be a part of our church or ANY church.
You don’t have to have ANY ministry experience!
All you need to do is SHOW UP to make a very real difference in the world and we will help you do the rest!
Some people are going to be serving EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and some are just serving a few! Whatever you can do, YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD TODAY!
HERE IS OUR SCHEDULE from April 3rd – April 9th…
Day 1. Friday, April 3rd: Street Outreach

Details: Meet @ Parking Lot 1 under IKEA towards the back @ 7 p.m. to pray and receive assignments
-Groups will receive locations (Peachtree and Phar, Peachtree and North, Metropolitan Parkway) and head out to Hand out water, granola bars, flowers, encouragement cards until approx. 10 p.m.

Day 2. Saturday, April 4th: Atlanta Dream Center/Adopt-A-Block

Details: Meet at Dream Center at 9:30 a.m. (412 Linden Avenue, Atlanta)
-Bag groceries right when we show up
-Worship/Prayer at around 10 am
-Recieve block assignments from Dream Center coordinators at around 11 am
-11 am-1 pm go door-to-door to meet needs, hand out food, pray for people, build relationships, etc.

Day 3. Sunday, April 5th: Free Breakfast @ Courageous Church/Safehouse Outreach

Details: Meet at Safehouse Outreach (89 Ellis St., Atlanta, GA 30303) directly following service to receive explanation on ministry of SafeHouse and what the objective for the day will be
-Hand out water to break the ice and create conversation/build relationships
-Strike up a game of ultimate frisbee or football
-Plan on being there until about 3 p.m.

5. Tuesday, April 7th: Bless Everyday People

-One crew will meet at 8 a.m. to receive breakfast items, flowers, encouragement cards, etc. to take to DFCS (Central City North Service Center 84 Walton Street, NW Atlanta, GA 404-657-8000 or 404-657-8100).
-The second crew will meet at 11:00 and take lunch, flowers, encouragement note to Firehouse Station 15 (170 10th Street NE, Atlanta, GA -404-853-7000) and possibly an elementary school

Day 7. Thursday, April 9th: Strip Club Outreach

Women ONLY inside of the Strip Club & Men will help with preparation, security, and prayer.
Details:Meetup Location to be Determined
-Go to Magic City to take single flowers with encouragement cards tied to them to hand out to dancers. We will also try to clean/beautify dressing room, set out flowers, leave encouragement cards, set out candles, while we are there.

Having grown up in Birmingham, Alabama and spent a lot of time in Atlanta, I love the people there and just know that you guys are going to make a huge impact on the community in the name of loving God and loving people. I now live in Kernersville, NC and am an assisting pastor at Calvary Chapel of the Triad, but I still love the people of Birmingham and Atlanta and praise the Lord that He has placed a man with a heart for serving others as a pastor in Atlanta. May many come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior through the ministry you have been entrusted with. God bless you. I enjoy reading your blog.
