I Listen to Doubters

Doubters thought I wouldn’t finish high school on-time after being hospitalized for nearly two years.

Doubters thought it was foolish to only apply to Morehouse College in 1997 (what happens if you don’t get in?).

Doubters thought it was foolish for a teenager to run for Student Government President in 1999.

Doubters thought it was too risky to get married as a 22 year old.

Doubters thought I was taking on too much when we adopted our niece five years ago.

Doubters said that I would go about another year without another spinal surgery (that was five years ago).

Doubters have been telling me its the wrong time to plant The Courageous Church for the past four years.

Doubters say that we’re ridiculous for launching our Sunday services at Center Stage (it’s too big – where are all of those people going to come?).

Doubters talk a lot of sh crap stuff.  It’s what they do.

Honestly, I take in outside critical opinions and value them. I listen to them, think about them, ponder them.  Every blue moon
I will stop what I’m doing and change course when my hard head sees
that I’m going in the wrong direction.  But, when I am sure in my
spirit
that I am doing what God has called me to do, I listen to the
doubters and build the ark anyways!
