School Pictures

Just thinking out loud to you about school pictures.

Do you order the pictures from school that your kids take.  Seems a little old school to me.  I don’t order them, but I must admit that I feel very guilty about it.  In fact, I feel so guilty that I can’t bring myself to throw away the proof with the numbers written across the bottom.  It almost seems similar to throwing away an American flag or a crucifix. I just don’t like the idea of a picture of my kids sitting in the trash.

What do you do?

I don’t think it old school at all…I still get pics of my goddaughter every year and I like them. They are goofy looking sometimes, but still cool to give out to friends and fam. just my 2 cents :-)

I agree. I agree with Michele. Maybe it’s a Mother’s view but I love looking back at school pictures of you and your brother. Jason said “Mom, why didn’t you cut my hair?” Get my Grand children’s pictures.

Some old school stuff is good. My only problem was the cost. I had three kids (only a year apart in age) and the cost of the packages were beyond our means at the time. Now I have a fancy digi camera and I would just snap a picture that day before they left (lol). I think its good to have a history of your life in pictures (which is why I scrapbook). Think of how many of our ancestors we know but have never seen because we didn’t have records of blacks back then. Look at it as documenting your childrens lives. Plus, you have to admit its fun to look back at how we looked then and now.

Aw! You can’t throw out the school pictures! I don’t have any kids but I still go back and look at (and laugh at) my old school pictures quite often. And I cherish the pics that I get from my niece and nephews every year. If not for yourself, do it for your kids or for your relatives! :-)
One thing my sister does from time to time when money is short is make copies of the proofs on her computer and then give those out. (Sure it might be cheating a little but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures :-/)
